Virtual Visits
Whatever you want to call them — eVisits, telehealth, telemedicine, virtual visits — they’re here! We now offer virtual visits, a convenient way for you to see providers you know and trust — and who know you and your child — from the comfort of your own home or anywhere else! All you need is a a smart phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone! We were planning on offering these visits later this year; the COVID-19 crisis has moved up our timetable to now so that we can continue to care for your children and family.
We currently have appointments for virtual visits during our regular office hours. You schedule your appointment just as you would a regular office appointment. We may offer virtual visits in the evening or on weekends if the provider on call thinks it would be appropriate. In the future, we may offer regular evening and weekend appointments via telemedicine. Virtual visits are available for established patients only; they are not appropriate for new patients.
Virtual visits are great for many follow-up appointments for existing issues, including anxiety, depression, seasonal allergies, asthma, ADHD, constipation, acne, concussions, behavior concerns, eczema, feeding problems, newborn questions, and breastfeeding. They are also helpful for some rashes and skin conditions and “does it need stitches?”.
During the COVID-19 crisis, we are vastly expanding our virtual visits for almost any sickness. Just call our office and we will let you know if a virtual visit is appropriate. If your provider determines during a virtual visit that your child needs to be examined, you can come by just for that part and you will be charged only for one office visit.
You don’t need to do anything special to register. Just follow these instructions.
Payment works the same as it does for regular office visits. (During the COVID-19 crisis, insurance carriers say they will waive co-pays; however, many of their systems are not yet updated and for now we will collect regular co-pays).
Visits, billing and payments are all encrypted, safe, and secure.
To learn more, see our Virtual Visits FAQ page or call our office. For step-by-step instructions, see our instructions page.
We are excited to be able to offer this service to our families as your medical home so we can be here whenever you need us.
