Prenatal Consults
Preparing for a healthy start
Most pediatric practices, including CCP, offer a free prenatal visit to meet one or more of the doctors, answer any questions, interview the doctor so to speak, and see the office. These visits are usually free; sometimes they are individual visits, but many large practices offer them as a group visit. We offer these individual visits as well. If you are interested, please call our office to schedule a prenatal visit.
As part of our comprehensive care for children and their families, we also offer a prenatal consult, which is much more thorough than a prenatal visit. During a prenatal consult, we provide detailed answers to your questions and information about all the decisions you need to make before the baby is born, such as cord blood banking, circumcision, and hepatitis B vaccine. We prepare you for all the things that will happen in the hospital and how to take care of the baby when you leave the hospital, including feeding, jaundice, and other issues.
We will also cover any pertinent medical history or family history that may impact the health of your baby or care after delivery, including group B strep status and other maternal factors.
These visits usually include breastfeeding planning as well. We will provide you all the necessary information to prepare for breastfeeding, develop a plan for the first week, know what to expect, and prepare you to successfully breastfeed with both confidence and joy.
As part of our prenatal services, we also offer vaccines to pregnant mothers as well as fathers, siblings, and others who will be caring for the baby. These vaccines, including whooping cough and flu, are recommended for pregnant women at each pregnancy to help protect the baby from these diseases. Please see our BabyShield Vaccine Program for more information.
The usual charge for this visit is usually $75, though it may differ depending on the length and complexity of the visit. Vaccines are not included in this fee.
