Adolescent & Teen Care Program
Helping Healthy Kids Become Healthy Adults
The adolescent years often present many challenges for both parents and teenagers. There are many physical, mental and emotional changes to deal with. It is a unique time as well; teenagers are in transition, no longer children but not yet adults. It can be a confusing time of both new freedoms and new responsibilities. Adolescents therefore have unique healthcare needs.
Who is best suited to provide care to these special patients? Pediatricians of course! Pediatricians are specially trained in caring for children during this special time of life and helping them make a safe and healthy transition to adulthood. Who better to care for their needs than the doctor who has hopefully been caring for them for many years? We work very hard, in fact, to earn the trust of children so that they will trust us as teenagers and discuss with us any symptoms or concerns they have so that we can keep them healthy and safe.
At CCP, we care for children all the way into college. We believe in empowering both adolescents and parents in being proactive about health, wellness, prevention, and safety. We continue our focus on prevention and education, and we increase our efforts to involve and educate the teenager in taking responsibility for his or her own health. We provide age-appropriate education and prevention services. We strive to achieve the right balance of involving parents in their care with providing teenagers with a safe environment to discuss any sensitive or embarrassing questions or concerns so that we can keep them as healthy and safe as possible.
