In our continual effort to provide the very best, most up-to-date and innovative pediatric care for children, we are excited to announce the start of our Oral Health Program. Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in children and is now known to cause a variety of health problems. There is a shortage of dental care available to infants and toddlers, and with proper treatment tooth decay can be prevented. It is now recommended that pediatricians provide these services for children, and we are pleased to implement these changes in our practice. We are enhancing our oral health education (which we have always included as part of our well visits), checking children’s teeth, and applying fluoride varnish in young children.
